Organic clothes for baby's?
Organic clothes for baby's?

I have two nephews both of whom have asthma ages 4 and 3. There a handful, I can remember the day both of them were born, but prior to that I remember the baby shower. So many people showed up baring their gifts for our new little family members. I distinctly remember how much clothes they both got in each one of their showers. I remember one piece was some kind of body suit, the interesting thing about it was that it was made of 100% organic cotton. I wondered to my self “does it even mater if the clothes is organic or not?” I mean the baby isn’t even going to care if it’s organic or not as long as they have clothes right? Apparently not.

I recently ran into an article at happyhippie.com, which explains that it is important for baby’s to have organic clothing.  “Organic clothing is particularly important for infants and children, as their bodies are more sensitive to the health risks posed from chemicals and pesticides. Premature babies are even more sensitive, as their lungs may not be at full capacity yet.”[1] Organic clothing is very beneficial not only for their health but it also helps cotton workers in the United States.

Next Time someone you know or love is expecting remember to buy organic clothing. Not only is it good for them but its also cute and trendy.

Good point to make about infant clothing wear. Many people worry about whether the fabric is flammable or not and I don't really know what that means to the fabric.
