Gucci Resort Collection 2009
Gucci Resort Collection 2009

If you watched the Gucci's resort collection, streamed live on the internet from Rome on Tuesday, you might have thought you were watching a taped recording of a 1970's fashion show.

Indeed, everything from the silky Julie Christie hair to the flowing dresses and flared pants were strongly reminiscent of the disco era.  The bold prints gave a sexy and confident edge to the collection that will likely be loved by women only born when these styles were new.  Nonetheless, Frida Giannini managed to make the clothes fresh and exciting.

The chiffon goddess dresses lent a bohemian feel to the collection which, when paired with bold florals and other prints, made up the quintessential resort season clothes.
