Rodarte: Fashion, Clothing, Collections, Runway
Rodarte is a brand of clothing and accessories founded by Kate and Laura Mulleavy. The Mulleavy sisters are U.C. Berkeley graduates from Pasadena, California and have received a number of industry awards since the line's inception in 2005. The sisters have also collaborated with Gap, and most recently Target, on limited edition pieces.
After their initial collection of just 10 pieces, the Mulleavys appeared on the cover of Women's Wear Daily and had a meeting with US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The company also had the early support of retailers Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom.
Rodarte has been seen on many celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Keira Knightley, and Dita von Teese. At the 81st Academy Awards both Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman were dressed in Rodarte. On April 23, 2009 Michelle Obama wore Rodarte while hosting Queen Rania of Jordan in the Oval Office. In December 2009 the Mulleavys will bring a limited edition collection to Target stores as a part of GO International.

Hitting stores December 20th-January 31st, 2010, the line will include 55 pieces in a price range of $9.99 -...

Laura and Kate Mulleavy are no one-hit wonder, and you can surely tell by the distinct looks in their Spring/Summer 2009 collection that this sister designing duo are certainly here to stay. The collection overall expressed...

A palette beginning with subtle earthtones delicately evolved into harsher, dark, colors, ending with a vibrant explosion of purples, oranges and blues. The creations, uniquely illustrated in the midst of a white washed, somewhat shattered,...
Years ago, a Siamese fighting fish was gifted to me by a love interest. (Little did I know that it was his "summer of love" and I was only penciled in for spring). Eventually, the love turned into like, and the fish (appropriately named "Turbo" given the quick end to the romance) swam to fishy heaven. But one thing that lasted was my love of these graceful water fairies....
