It's no secret reatailers are fighting over every dollar we spend. The struggle was so tough that Gap had a big question mark hanging above it for a while, and big retailer stores contracted designers to offer a cheaper line that will keep the shoppers coming.
Ann Taylor figures they will go the other way, usually offering business attire for women at a decent price, they are now going upscale. In the end of September they will launch a new brand called Collection, which will be priced 40% higher and will be aimed to a deeper pocket.
At first it will be introduced in selected locations, and by the begining of 2008 across the US.
