Grecian goddess on a budget

Acting almost like a fashion prophet last season, I predicted that Lanvin’s spring ‘08 collection of breath-taking and fluid goddess draped dresses would be on the bodies of practically every celebrity with a good stylist cum spring.

And while the Hollywood set took awhile to embrace Alber Elbaz’s fleet of cool navy and khaki trapezes shifts, Vogue cover girls alike showed up at the recent Cannes Film Festival wearing pretty much every garment off the designer’s spring runway.

Linda Evangalista, Gwenyth Paltrow, Natalie Portman, Carine Roitfeld, and Kristin Scott Thomas all stormed the incredibly long red carpet this past week wearing only the Grecian-inspired Lanvin designs.

Apparently, Topshop took notice. Because they quickly added two reasonably priced dresses that were surely the result of some the princess pieces worn by the aforementioned.

Nicely draped and pleasantly feminine, the puffball dress (pictured right) would look great with a pair of gladiator sandals or chunky wedges.
