Although we’ve known for a while now that clothes have become the new accessories, with handbags and shoes taking the main stage, this new series of ads from the house of Valentino is still kind of shocking to us.

Not only for their blatant product placement, but also because the models hiding behind these beautifully crafted shoes and handbags are none other than mega models Amber Valetta, Shalom Harlow, Raquel Zimmerman, and Anja Rubik.

This is the second-to last collection from Valentino for his namesake line before he hands over the reigns to ex-Gucci designer Alessandra Facchinetti.

So, we guess it does make since that he would rather have all the attention on that gorgeous purple patent tote than a freshly cropped Anja.

However, isn’t the reason you pay the beautiful Russian her six figure paycheck is because of her abilities to artfully pose in your ads, and since we all can’t look like her, at least we can don the chiffon dress or beaded top she is wearing?

Oh well, the Inez & Vinoodh shots are nothing short of genious and dare we say…slightly amusing?
