Today’s WWD reports Kate Bosworh is the new face of Calvin Klein Jeans. She apparently landed the gig after “she attended the spring show for Collection in New York in September and cohosted the postshow dinner for Francisco Costa.”
According to Malcolm Carfrae, Calvin Klein’s senior vice president of global communications, Kate’s ads represent a “clean, pure and simple all-American” look compared to the brands more edgy and suggestive campaigns featuring Lara Stone and Jaime Burke last season. The ads break in the February issues of major fashion mags.
Why is the Blush Crush cutie so camera friendly this season?
She has a couple of movies coming out this year. First up, a film called 21 that is getting her profiled in the February issue of Vogue - which means she’ll probably get the cover too.
We think Kate Bosworth is stop-you-in-your tracks beautiful. But with the resurgence of the American Model in the fashion industry: was Hilary Rhoda, Ali Michael, Karlie Kloss, or Chanel Iman unavailable?
So we ask, does “clean, pure and simple all-American” mean very pale, blonde, and blue eyes? Discuss.
