Superheroes, how many of us love them?
Over the past few months, we’ve all seen the worlds of both fashion and fantasy collide in the form of superheros.
Luella Bartley made her triumphant return to London last September with a collection that paid homage to comic star Batman with caps, masks, as well as tops and clutches covered in his black and gold bat wings.
This year’s Costume Institute Gala had a superheroes theme and Vogue magazine put Gwenyth Paltrow on its cover to promote her new film Iron Man, which was based on a popular comic book series.
And now Topshop wants to outfit its devoted birds in the cutest super gear imaginable for summer. The brand has just updated its look book and it features a black sequins cat suit, Batman tees and socks, comic tops, fire-engine red pants, and super high heels that could assist anyone in kicking some major ass.
While all of the pieces get a thumbs up from me, I really have my sights set on this jumper covered in stars that model Flavia is wearing in this photograph. It’s cool, reminds me of Chanel and Kate Moss, and more importantly, it’s the one Wonder Woman costume that can be worn year round.
