Beauty Queen Beauty Routine

Lot's of people don't understand the difference between how a beauty queen takes care of herself and how the average woman takes care of herself. I'm bringing this up because it takes a lot of hard work and care to be at your best much of the time.
It really is a challenge to care for how you look and act as a public figure. For example, my beauty routine is pretty intense. But since I've been doing it from age 15, its really second nature. See if you can relate:
1. I exercise 5 days a week, (sometimes 6!) Five days cardio plus three days weight training and cardio. And this is just to look half way decent. I'm dedicated to exercising because it keeps me young and flexible. It brightens my complexion and improves my mood. I'm 47 and most people think I'm 30. Not bragging, but hoping this will encourage others to follow my lead. Exercise really is the fountain of youth! Oh, and drink lots of water!
2. Hair Care- Color every two weeks. I also change my style pretty regularly as the mood and weather hits, so as not to become boring. I like to use lots of barrettes, scarves etc. to add my own personality.
3. Skin Care- Not enough time to go into the full regimen, but, I use Olay products, cleansing wash cloths, and their moisturizer with hydralounic acid. I also use a 3% benzoyl peroxide gel by prescription from my dermatologist. I use Ponds microdermabrasion cleanser once a week and Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask or the peel off mask. I am faithful about removing my makeup as soon as I am at home. I use Regenerist serum around my eye area and a sunblock when I work out outside. My philosophy is that products don't have to be expensive, you just have to USE them. Find what works for you and use it regularly. Exercise makes my skin flawless because of the increased blood flow and excretion of perspiration. I use the microdermabrasion and mask combo at least once a week. I use Bigelow's Peppermint body scrub all over my body once a week, but twice during the summer when I'm showing more skin (LEGS!) I have a favorite cellulite treatment that really works, but if you want to know what it is, you'll have to write me and ask!
4. Nails- I wear acrylics. I get a fill in every two weeks if I'm sporting a french manicure. Three weeks if I'm wearing color. Toes are done practically every day as I cannot stand ugly feet in pretty sandals. I use pure African Shea Butter (the chunky kind you get from the beauty supply store) on my hands, feet and body.
5. Teeth- Crest Whitestrips keep my pearlies gleaming! No, porcelain veneers here! But I did have my dentist file my front teeth straight across to get the points off my two upper front teeth. They look fabulous!
6. Eyelashes- I use Duralash individual eyelashes most of the time. This way I can look decent even without any makeup on. (Say at the gym working out)
I could go on forever but you get my drift. It always amazes me when people don't realize that a lot of queens are professional models. Beauty is our business. We have to take care of our product if we are to earn a living. Also, why would someone hire you if you looked as raggedy as the next person? What makes all of this worth it though, to me, is being a blessing to other women who come up to me and ask what my secret is. I am then able to share and encourage them in their own lives. I think that this is such a blessing and I am pleased to be able to offer my advice.
That's where the attitude part comes in. All of the above is nothing without the joy of the Lord. This joy must emanate from me as I go about my personal appearances and in my life in general.
My goal is first and foremost to make the other person feel good. And to serve. The Bible says that "The greatest among you will be the servant of all." This is the attitude of a queen that makes one the most beautiful of all!
