If you've never used Olay skin care products before, now is the time to take a closer look. What used to be Oil of Olay is now Olay products and they've changed a whole lot from the watery pink lotion your grandmother used to use.

Olay recently launched 4 new and complete lines of beauty products to meet everyone's skin care needs. The lines are: Definity- "Premier anti-aging treatments featuring an essential Glucosamine complex." Definity products promise enhanced skin luminosity by helping fight discoloration, dullness, and brown spots. Definity Deep Foaming Moisturizer is a light as air formula that weightless and wonderful. It is concentrated and you only need a tiny bit because the foam expands.  Regenerist- As the name implies, this line promises to regenerate the look of aging skin using " advanced corrective anti-aging treatments and featuring an exclusive Amino-Peptide complex." This line is formulated to speed cellular regeneration and reveal significantly newer skin with regular use. My favorite Regenerist product is the Micro -Sculpting Cream. This cream contains Hyaluronic acid which is present in youthful skin but starts to wane as time goes by. The Micro- Sculpting Cream makes my skin feel like a combination of satin and velvet. All the while smoothing those not-so-cute parenthetical naso-labial folds. Believe me, they are becoming fainter by the minute with this product!

Total Effects- "Total Effects fights the 7 signs of aging:1) Fine lines and wrinkles, 2) dryness, 3) enlarged pores, 4) blotches, 5) surface dullness, 6) uneven skin tone, and 7) uneven skin texture."  Now, I have to admit, my skin is usually pretty good. But I was given a bottle of Total Effects Daily Moisturizer to try and danged if my skin didn't look better within two weeks. I'm serious! I started to notice how much more translucent it looked which addresses  #5 of the nasty 7. The improvement in my skin was dramatic. It looks more refined, luminous, and glowing.

Age Defying- Contains "Beta-Hydroxy acid and pro-retinol formulas to fight the first signs of aging." This line is great for twentysomethings that want to get a headstart on anti-aging.

Olay also makes dozens of specialty products, i.e. 14 Day Skin Intervention Kit, Anti-Aging Lip Treatment, Definity Eye Illuminator (brightens  and smoothes the undereye area) and the Microdermabrasion & Peel System. Consumer Reports (January 2007) compared Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream (around $25.00) to Lancome Renergie ($176.00) and rated it as effective as the Lancome brand. They also compared the Micro-Sculpting Cream to LaPrairie Cellular ($335.00, ouch!) and rated LaPrairie as LESS effective than the Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. The difference in price is phenomenal versus the actual effectiveness of the products. Here's a secret: you can get this cream at Sam's Club for two for $38.84.

In these challenging economic times, a beauty queen's got to do what a beauty queen's got to do. Plastic surgery is out of the question. I don't know about you, but $25.00 is about my limit for a good daily treatment.I certainly appreciate a product that is good and doesn't cost a fortune. Olay products have come a long way, baby! They have changed their formulations to meet a variety of diverse skin needs. And they have priced their products within the range of affordability. Best of all, the products work!
