As a former ballerina, I have a soft spot for Degas-inspired style-- from ballet flats, hair buns, to pale-pink wrap cardigans.
So when I found out earlier this month that Karl Lagerfeld, Creative Director for Chanel, had designed costumes for the English National Ballet's 'Ballets Russes' season, I was beyond excited to see his creations. Despite its criticism, I must say that I'm completely enamored with his feathered tutu he designed for the "Dying Swan." It's so detailed, dainty, and breathtaking.
But the designer's other costumes shouldn't go unnoticed either. Shown here are Lagerfeld's costumes for the other dancers in the show. Although the ivory-colored designs are more simple, I can only imagine the costumes look even more graceful when the ballerinas perform in these flowy frocks.
