For as much as I didn’t love Spanish in high school, I wish I knew it now. I doubt I am the only person that wishes they knew more Spanish as well, seeing as the bilingual candidate will always be preferred to the English-only candidate in a job situation, and in cases where both candidates are hired, the bilingual candidate can certainly command more money. In addition to being more competitive in the job market, speaking Spanish would allow for more travel and better travel.

As I’m one of those people that isn’t interested in spending the time or money on a class, I was delighted that Nintendo DS introduced software that will allow you to learn Spanish on your DS. I don’t know that you will be able to deliver a thesis in Spanish any time soon after using your DS Spanish speaking program, but at the very least, it should be a fun way to increase your Spanish vocabulary, and who can complain about that?

It cost about $30.00, in addition to the cost of the DS (which can be found cheaply enough on ebay.) The product is called My Spanish Coach and includes a complete dictionary and an audible Spanish speaking guide.
