Plaid is like horizontial stripes and big patterns - it makes you look fat. It's okay in a hair bow or a scarf, but not in a top or dress. If you're thin, plaid will make you look anywhere from 10 to 20 pounds heavier then you are. If you're fat like me it'll make you look like you're the fat lady at the old time circus. Just stay away.
I think it really depends on the type of plaid and how you wear it. I've seen some women look absolutely fabulous in plaid; even the girls in the photo above done look bad. I think as long as you don't overdo it you can create that classic & feminine style that puts a little fun back in winter. Let's face it, as far as clothing goes I HATE the winter. But I could definitely deal with a few pieces like those above!
