At the BCBG Maxazria show, fashion retailers, editors, and a lineup of A-listers including Tyson Beckford, Joss Stone, Christina Milan and Amerie flocked to see what consumers will be seeing in the stores next season. Common themes seen on the runways so far also showed up at BCBG like one shoulder dresses, interesting pleating, and the return of volume.
This BCBG girl had a more sophisticated approach to her usually flirty and girly demeanor. Structured, yet malleable shaped frocks gave interest to what Maxazria described as “modern femininity.” Though the color palette was mostly shaded neutrals of mauve and taupe, added punches of rich cranberry and goldenrod really spiced up the looks that could easily be worn day or night.
The master of designing wearable clothing, Maxazria did not disappoint us, even down to the snakeskin peep toes paired with many of the looks. Among my favorites in show had to be the deliciously sweet tan wool twill coat belted with an oversized men’s leather belt tied at the waist instead of looped through the holes.
After the show, I had the pleasure of interviewing Stylist to the Stars, Philip Bloch who let me in on a little secret. So stay tuned to find out more…..
