Baby Phat - New York Fashion Week, Fall 2008
Baby Phat - New York Fashion W...
You can always expect the Baby Phat show to be one of the hottest shows during fashion week. Certainly not because of any groundbreaking craftsmanship or trendsetting collections. Simply, the attraction is the spectacular showmanship and the celeb turn out.

Yet, this season left me pleasantly surprise at Kimora' s or her creative team' s growth. Don' t get me wrong, the usual round-the-way girl flavor was present but her fall collection had a more mature elegance.   Models strutted Kimora Lee-Simmons style in 1940' s flapper style dresses with delicate appliques. Not sure if the Baby Phat' s  general consumer will know where to fit these pieces in their wardrobe. However, I hope Kimora continues to evolve in this direction.
