Cartwheels, balloons, punk and fringe. Betsey Johnson' s fall collection was full of energy, retro style, and geek glasses.
Celebrating her label' s 30th anniversary, Betsey themed her show "Beat Chick" and created an atmosphere much like a french alleyway in the bohemian 60' s. Models strutted down the catwalk with teased crimped hair and berets, sporting go-go dresses with funky zipper detailing, pink and purple (signature colors) floral prints, and suede fringe vests and dresses.
Act 2 celebrated the CBGB era, while the Ramones blasted and skull-print tops paraded defiantly. High-waisted neon shorts paired with country girl tie-front tops and fingerless gloves created a real in-your-face fashion moment.
The event was star-studded as usual, drawing such celebrities as Tyra Banks, Phillip Boch, the Simmons sisters, and Chloe Sevigny.
