Man may not have yet invented the time machine, but Tuesday night Chocheng definitely brought us back to the 1980’s with his Fall/Winter 2009 collection. The palette consisted of Crayola pastels that recalled Margaret Thatcher during her years at 10 Downing Street while the padded shoulders had us wondering if it was not actually Ronald Reagan who’d just been elected president.
The silhouette followed suit with boxy shapes and wide flared lapels—it was ultimately the type of clothes one would expect to find in the typical Washington D.C. power woman’s wardrobe: prim, professional and not an ounce of sexy.
