It is a rare occurrence when the celebrities sitting pretty at the front row of a fashion show serve any other purpose besides generating excitement and gossip, but in the case of Milly, the two young Gossip Girl cast members were the perfect embodiment of the Milly girl.  It was easy to imagine the preppy Blair Waldorf cronies in almost any of the flirty, feminine and classically chic clothes. 

For Fall/Winter 2009, designer Michelle Smith created one of the most seasonally appropriate collections we’ve seen so far this Fashion Week.  The models were ready to walk out and face the freezing temperatures outside with giant fur hats and refined outerwear in sumptuous fabrics like wool and cashmere that was both practical and sophisticated.  Everything shown was eminently wearable and could go seamlessly from runway to retail. 

Besides the standout ready-to-wear separates, the silk evening dresses at the end of the shower were flirty with big bows and ruffled skirts—perfect for any woman’s inner gossip girl.
