The Norma Kamali Spring 2010 runway show was unlike any other I've attended this week. The presentation of this casual chic line took place in the rain outside the Apple Store, the show's original location. Instead of walking on a traditional runway, models strutted on the sidewalk under a scaffold and later posed across a stage for photographers and street viewers. Models were holding signs advertising the designer's new affordable eBay line with her designs for $250 and under and Wal-Mart collection of pieces $35 and under.
Black, white and red were the main colors of this line that featured everything from bikinis, jersey dresses and a maternity dress.
The show called "The Democratization of Fashion" means more accessibility to fashion information at any price and that is exactly what Norma Kamali is doing with her line inspired by new technology and innovation.
While the show didn't go exactly as planned, the pieces are great, wearable and quite affordable.
