A little bit granny, a little bit edgy and definitely very 80’s are the best ways to describe Rebecca Taylor’s Fall 2009 collection. Rebecca is known for her fancy of all things frilly and feminine and this season showed an emphasis on prints and jewel tones that were undeniably in line with the year’s biggest trends.
The 1980’s permeated nearly every look with ruffles galore, faux-fur and a plethora of leopard print that covered everything from body-skimming, high-waisted pants to trench coats and cropped jackets. The look was slightly Madonna circa “Holiday” with the light blue eye shadow and front-side hair bun also evoking the decade.
Another immerging trend from Fall 2009 seen in Taylor’s collection were the high waisted pleated trousers inspired from the 1930’s that give any swanlike woman an instantly sophisticated appearance but can be disastrous on anyone not of model build.
The jewel tones and flirty floral prints added a jolt of vibrancy to the collection that is sure to enliven any bleak Fall wardrobe.
