Toni Francesc lead a spellbound audience into the woods with his Urban Forest collection and left us all enchanted with the experience. Francesc was inspired by the versatility of wood and it’s many forms, and that came across in the way he mixed flowing fabrics in nudes and muted blues and yellow with stiff collars and statement jewelry. The clothes seemed overall free and flowing, but the precise folds, bound together by strategic straps revealed the true complexity. The result was clothes that were appeared both adaptable enough for frequent wear, but also interesting enough to provoke excitement.
I have to say that this was one collection where the interest did not cease once the model turned on the catwalk; the backs of every piece were gorgeous, whether they were open and low hanging or crisscrossed with leather straps and cascading fabric. My favorite looks incorporated the fantastic wood jewelry Francesc collaborated with Nashelle Designs to create. They complimented the clothing and really helped reinforce the theme of the collection.
The light turquoise Grecian gown with circular wooden jewelry sewn into the neckline and low hanging back may be the epitome of everything I loved about the collection, making it the indisputable It-look of the evening.
