Tory Burch was the only designer who made me attend a 9AM show during this fashion week. Luckily, I wasn't alone - just when I passed a large crowd waiting to get into the venue, Anna Wintour was ushered in, joining Tony Braxton and hundreds of people who all made it to the Bryant Park tents this gloomy Wednesday morning to celebrate Tory's Spring.
And Tory gave us many reasons for celebration: the master mind behind many "it" items in the recent seasons, she presented another collection of easily mixed must haves. From bold jewelry to clutches, over-sized sequined tanks to soft cardigans, sophisticated leather to classic trenches - every piece channeled effortless chic.
The presentation format, never seen in the tents this season, was a breath of fresh air and worked perfectly for this collection, providing almost natural enviroment for the clothes. Tory Burch herself was right there, in front of the stage, smiling and greeting guests, talking to the cameras and being her friendly self - another rare sighting in the tents...
The celebratory toast at Milos was well deserved - being one of the few designers who are actually expanding during the recession, Tory Burch seems to know exactly what her audience needs right now and continue to supply series of "it" items from season to season.
