If you were looking for an artistic approach to the runway this New York fashion week, ALEXANDRE HERCHCOVITCH was definitely one designer to watch. Always inspired by the fine arts, he uses the runway as his palette, first introducing the main hues, then mixing them in a variety of patterns and shapes. His Spring 2011 runway felt like a canvas, and the looks coming down were conceptual head to toe, including hair, makeup and shoes - everything was coordinated by one artistic vision. While most may wonder about the function elements of some of HERCHCOVITCH's looks, it's always refreshing to see a designer with an artistic vision at the uber commercialized NY fashion week.
