According to the designer himself, “Fall Winter 2008 is inspired by Friz Lang’s 1927 silent film Metropolis.  It is a story of a city that runs on the ‘Heart Machine,’ which is created by love of a young maiden who is captured and turned into a robot.  This ‘Maschinen Mensch’ fuels the city’s light and its love.”

Indeed, the 20’s flapper influence was most manifest in the short bob style that has enjoyed a renaissance thanks to celebrities like Katie Holmes and Victoria Bechkam.  The makeup as well recalled a time past when dramatic eyebrows and deep red lips were the de rigueur. 

The clothes themselves were absolutely beautiful, though the strongest point was clearly the evening gowns that were a made of flowing satins and silk chiffons.  They conveyed a movement and timeless elegance that was truly stunning and enjoyable to watch.
