It was a secretary-chic that came through at the Tibi Spring 2009 show yesterday as boxy silhouettes took center stage both in ballooning dress shirts and high-waisted jodhpur pants.
Linen fabrics set the summer tone for a collection that was often not overtly reminiscent of warm weather. Asia was a source of influence, evidenced in a samurai-like “Dragon Lady Gown” and numerous harem pants. At the same time, the clothes seemed more inspired by the 1980’s business woman with antique prints, sculpted waists and boxy shoulders.
