We have several makeup trends to look forward to this year. According to Beauty.com, we can expect to see both simple, classic looks and more daring, dramatic faces in the coming months.
Starting with the basics, geometrically applied liquid liner to the upper lids really stood out on the otherwise nude faces of models in the Wayne Lee show. Avoid blushes and highlights, and use some loose powder to keep the face matte. I really like this look because it draws attention to the eyes, and liquid liner dresses up even the most basic of faces.
On the more dramatic end, the Charlotte Ronson show showcased models with a more unusual approach to the sweet and sexy look. A sherbet colored pout was complimented by large dramatic eyes with drawn on lashes and a spattering of freckles across the cheeks. I'm not sure how I feel about fake freckles because I have real ones that I' m always trying to cover, but I love the way the eye makeup is going. From far away, you can't even tell the models have fake lashes drawn on. I' ve been waiting for a more unusual trend like this. Anything to make my eyes look larger! This look is perfect to give you a younger "school girl" look.
And for those of you who love your colored liner, fear not. Color around your eyes, especially vibrant colors like smoky teals, were favored on the Lela Rose runway. This is certainly good news for me; my favorite beauty item is my navy blue eyeliner with sparkles. What item in your collection do you treasure?
