I do not consider myself to be high maintenance, but yes, I do take some effort to try to look nice most mornings. This doesn' t mean spending hours getting ready, but I am always putting some thought into how I want my hair, face, and outfit to look. Making fun changes every day helps to keep my style fresh.
I also have fun with accessories. My favorite additions to my look often include arm warmers, hand warmers, and temporary tattoos. And now, perhaps, I' ll have a new addition: contact lenses!
I' m not talking regular prescription lenses here, although people who need to wear contacts can have fun with them as well. I' m not even talking the usual colored contacts. I' m talking ultimate colored contacts.
I had a friend in Japan who had a pair of violet lenses and they were fabulous. Subtle enough that she didn' t look scary, but such an unusual color that when we went out she didn' t have to start a conversation all night. People would come up to her and do a double-take.
"Your eyes are beautiful. Are those contacts?"
"Yes, of course," she would reply, smiling. A built-in ice breaker.
So I decided to look into unusual colors and styles of lenses and see if there were any other options. I couldn' t believe some of the lenses that I found. If you want unique, or colorful, or yes, something scary (perhaps for Halloween?) there is a pair of contacts for you. My favorite site is www.9mmsfx.com/lenses. Although rather expensive, these soft lenses can last for years with proper care and can be made to fit people who need corrective lenses and those with astigmatism. I found a few gems that I thought would look really cool with some of my "looks." I also found some that scared the bajeezus out of me. Here are some of the highlights:
Blue Itachi

Troll

Selene

Jaws

Darth Maul

and my favorite:
Mirrored

All I can say is, "Wow!"
Check out the aforementioned site if you' re interested in seeing all they have to offer. Happy looking!
