| The inaugural 'It' Designer contest launched in May 2008 in search of undiscovered talent in the fashion design world. My'It'Things invited designers to submit five of their best designs, either in the form of sketches or created pieces to the revolutionary open-platform. In just two months time, hundreds of designers from all corners of the country had submitted over a thousand designs and nearly one hundred thousand votes had been cast by the My'It'Things community. By mid-July, the top 25 semi-finalists had been decided by popular vote and the panel of judges, including esteemed fashion designers Malan Breton, Keither Lissner and other industry experts such as Greg Littley, Kathlin Argiro, Hitha Prabhakar, Nathan Cooper, Sheryl Berk and My'It'Things Editor-in-chief Yuli Ziv set to narrowing down this talented list to the top three finalists. It was with much excitement that My'It'Things announced finalists Nora DelBusto, Wakana Koike and Adolfo Sanchez and presented them each with $1,500 to work on their collections for Spring 2009. By blogging their creative processes on MyItThings.com, they not only gave their fans and My'It'Things community members a unique insight into the design process, but also opened a direct dialogue with their future consumers, an exciting first in the fashion industry. These designers will showcase their creations on October 15, 2008 in a highly publicized runway show held at Lotus Space in New York that will be attended by top press members, industry professionals and celebrities. The winner of the 'It' Designer contest will be chosen 50% by popular vote and 50% by the judges' votes and will be awarded $5,000 toward the production of their Spring 2009 line, to be sold on MyItThings.com.
