Not everybody loves shopping.
05/02/2009, 02:28 PM
I, for one, hate it. I do it because I have to. Not because I want to. If I had a choice I'd live the rest of my life in oversized, tent-like t-shirts and cheap jeans. Tennies are the best kinds of shoes in my opinon. Shopping for things like body wash, shampoo, etc, well, I can get that all at WalMart. Music and books I don't even have to step outside the door, just buy online. Shopping for clothing however, has to be done in person and it's a pain in the butt! Especially when you're fat like me. Because, despite what a lot of people here try ...

Why not a different decade?
04/25/2009, 10:45 AM
So yesterday over on Ivillage's Beauty & Style page I saw an article that the 80s styles are coming back.In fact, it always seems some style is coming back. I see sites where women make custom dresses based on patterns from the 1940s and 1950s. Some designer is always trying to bring back the 1960s. And now that it's long enough ago to be seen as retro, the 1980s are making a comebac...

Confessions Of A Pimple Popper

In some things when it comes to my genetics I was lucky. I got mom's face and singing voice. Of course along with that came the Pavlick hairiness. (You should've seen my nephew. At 3 years old he was so hairy he looked like a blond werewolf.) I'm the only woman I know who has to shave her forearms. In a lot of other areas though, I got dad's genes. His tendancy for bushy eyebrows. Thank God for No Tweeze wax! While I have mom's short-but-wide feet, if you look very closely you can see my second toe is a fraction of an inch longer then my big to...

Let's see how many people I can tick off with this one.

I'm fat. I make no excuses, don't try to play a thin woman on the internet - outside of my online Dungeons & Dragons game that is. As a fat woman I need special clothes. Clothes that hide my flaws and show off my good points. Sadly, designers seem to not realize that means fat women cannot wear bigger versions of skinny girls' clothing. Let's start with the issue of sleeves. Fat wome...

And now let's talk shoes.
04/16/2009, 11:25 AM
So yesterday I posted an article about the lack of pockets in purses. Today I want to tell designers about something else they forget.Arch support and cushioning in shoes! To me, a good pair of shoes should be like a good bra. It should comfortably support every curve. It should feel like it's not even there. Apparently shoe designers disagree. To them, shoes should be torture devices. I ...
