Why is it so hard....?
10/22/2008, 09:41 AM
For once, please read the ENTIRE blog before you comment. One reason I joined MyItThings.com is because for too long fashion designers have lived in their own little bubbles. Despite people trying to constantly remind them otherwise, they've forgotten that the vast majority of people, especially women, that they make clothing for are size 12 and up. They keep making clothing that only works on their bone-thin sickly looking models. Yet none are brave enough to put out an e-mail or snail mail address where we can send feedback. Be they companies...

It all started with a monsterously ugly dress....
10/08/2008, 08:30 PM
For several years I spent my Halloweens with my best friend, Erin McQuillian. We and her mom would do a Harry Potter theme, complete with sorting hat. We pretty much made our costumes - mine was made of two other costume pieces I had bought after Halloween a few years back, cut and resewn. Erin and Nancy though made their's more from scratch. In 2005, at the age of 26, Erin died after a ...

How come dress shoes rarely if ever have arch support?
10/03/2008, 12:55 AM
Okay, so since I'm not a designer (I cannot draw nor sew, otherwise I probably would be), but I am a consumer of fashion, there are many mysteries to the fashion world I'd like to figure out. Like how the resizing process is suppose to make women feel better about themselves when it's done in such a manner that for a woman to get a true 3X fit she now has to buy a 4X. (A 3X should be a a 26/28, but they changed it so a 26/28 is a 4X, a 24/26 is a 3X, etc - which is insane.) If anything this resizing practice makes a woman feel worse about herse...

Help me prove mom wrong.
10/01/2008, 02:52 PM
I may be 32 years old, but let's face it - when it comes to mothers unless your's is one of those stereotypical Jerry Springer-esce type moms, it's impossible to go totally against their wishes. And, for the most part, mom's got better taste in clothing then I do. Though I still say as fat as I am I should wear clothing as baggy as possible to hide my ugly body.I know one thing for sure ...

Let's talk clothing & medical problems.
09/12/2008, 03:53 PM
While I'm calm and collected for once, I want to discuss another problem with the clothing industry.Namely, the lack of resources for those with various medical condictions and clothing. Mostly - allergies. But I will touch on another issue first, bladder and kidney issues. People get on me for wearing granny panties. Now I still stand by what I said in a comment on my own blog - thongs are useless. Underwear is suppose to hide you. It's for modesty's sake. Thongs hide nothing and if you're going to wear them then you might as well go comando. ...
