Just in time for Passover - Kosher makeup.

I wasn't lucky enough to be raised Jewish but while shaking my maternal family tree I found that my great-grandparents - both the Pavlicks and the Voytkos - were originally Jewish and converted to escape persecution. The more I read and understand about my denied heritage, the more I wish I had been raised Jewish.

One of the things I've come to understand more fully and wish more people lived by are the kosher laws. For most of the people I meet on the street, they think this just means no bacon cheeseburgers. But it's a lot more. There's laws that dictate on how the animal is treated so they won't suffer, probably the very first laws against animal cruelty. There's also strict laws of cleanliness.

Cleanliness is the big issue here. With the whole "Made in China" issue I've looked more and more often for kosher goods. The kosher laws are stricter then any FDA laws.

With things made in China we've gotten poisonous food for both pets and humans, drywall that corodes pipes and causes respatory problems, lead painted toys, and flamable clothing. So we've all got to be extra careful what we buy. Especially if it goes into or onto our bodies.

That's why I was so excited to find a website that sells kosher makeup.

Even with makeup made here in the USA you can have problems. After all, we've all heard about how the FDA allows so many rat hairs and roach legs per jaw of peanut butter. Imagine what's allowed in even the mineral makeup.

I've loved everything I've gotten so far from ShainDee. Especially the Dyeceptions lipsticks - they look one color, but go on another. And knowing the laws regarding how clean and pure something has to be before it can be called kosher I can put it on with confidence.

It's makeup that not only makes you look good outside, but feel good inside. Better then even the so called "organic" makeup. Which, unless you see it processed from begining to end, you can never really be sure it's really organic, or they just slapped that label on to play to a trend.

thanks for sharing this! I've never heard of Kosher makeup! :) p.s. seems like we have a lot in common - my grandpa used to hide his Jewish roots to be accepted by the communists in Russia...

Wow. My great-grandparents were originally from Russia, but settled in Slovenia for awhile, and told the census taker here in the US that they were from Austria! Even though they weren't.
