You can almost feel the summer in the air and definitely the winter fat in your body - means the swimsuits season is coming soon! It's time for our annual trauma! I've had enough of those fluorescent lightened stores fitting rooms, so these days I shop for my swimsuits online.
http://www.neimanmarcus.com has a nice selection, or go for Victoria Secrets if you don't feel like paying $$$ for a tiny piece of fabric. But by shopping online I minimize the fitting room trauma and try my bikinis alone in a soft lightened room, right after my personal trainer session. It helps a lot. Now it's just time to decide on shape, color and designer. Here are my top trends for this swim season, that hopefully will make your choice easier:
Cutout shapes: it's not the first season we see those weirdly cut suits. It might be worth trying, definitely looks stylish and chic. My only problem is that I do actually like to tan, and having a cutout tan might look funky. Jean Paul Gaultier Metallic Swimsuit is on the right.
Animal prints: snakes, leopards, and whatever you feel like trying on. everything goes. make sure the shape is actually young and hip, otherwise it might look a little old. Michael Kors Cheetah-Print Chain Bikini on the left
Geometric prints: this is pretty innovative and actually does look modern. make sure the geometric illusion is on your side and doesn't convert your body to one of those Escher paintings. Gottex Domino Swimsuit in the middle.
Have fun with these and most important - make your confidence speak, and not the flows you see only in your fitting room mirror.
