Calling all food-connoisseurs! This Sunday I had the wonderful opportunity to entice my taste buds with flavorful elegance at Venus Caféin Berkeley, CA.  Not only was the company and the weather more than I could ask for, the food and service was impeccable!  So amazing, I was inspired to share!! 

What makes this café so totally LUX besides the food being heaven sent you ask?  Well, all the produce and ingredients used are completely organic!  Both sustainable and unique, this place had LUX written all over it. 

A must, is their organic coffee!  It was simply what the Dr. ordered for a Sunday brunch; a full-bodied roast with a smooth finish was just the way to go.  For all you caffeine lovers, they’re sure to have something to peak your interest with their full-coffee bar.  Though my FAV was the ‘caramel vanilla latte’ with homemade whip cream!

For my main course, it was a toss up between the ‘Venus Benedict’ with lemon infused hollandaise sauce and the chicken sausage scramble with mozzarella, red bell peppers, caramelized onions and fresh basil.  I know—decision. It was a tough Sunday.  Luckily, my partner in food indulgence was also tempted, so we settled on both.  Happy foodie until my eyes scrolled down the menu and saw….‘LUXURY flapjacks.’ So you might be asking, huh???  LUX, flapjacks?!?  Well, let’s just say they take chocolate chips and raspberries and infuse them into their version of a pancake topped with organic maple syrup!! Doesn’t this make your mouth water just reading this?? ;D

Venus Café is located on Shattuck Avenue near UC Berkeley and is reasonable at, around $7-10 a plate. There might be a line when you show, though the brief 10-15 minute wait is well worth it.  This food has LUX-flavor written all over it and is a MUST if you’re in the area. Note, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. Though, I highly recommend Sunday brunch!!
