LUX tech: Versace, Prada and YSL get geeky
Top luxury brands, Versace, PRADA and YSL are stepping in a new direction, and getting geeky. For $6,747 you can purchase the Versace Touch, a luxury phone hand-made in France and manufactured by LG, featuring the iconic Medusa emblem stamped on the back. The snazzy device also comes with a high-tech ceramic or lacquer face, and 18-karat gold or stainless steel finish, and a leather backing available in an array of colors. For another $2k, you can upgrade to a ceramic-gold alligator skin model.
PRADA is also teaming up with Korean tech giant, LG, to create the sleek glassy black phone. The phone resembles the lustrous look of the brand's sunglasses and uses their signature simplicity and modernity that separates them from the rest. Unfortunately the new gadget has yet to make it's U.S. debut, and is only available in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
Yves Saint Laurent is another fashion brand turning tech. Their customes can now buy their multi-county power adapter for $450. A world traveler's new best friend, the plug comes with a cute leather carrying case (available in black, violet and fuschia).
