LFW A/W12 – Corrie Nielsen
Corrie Nielsen is THE hot ticket at London Fashion Week. Since being chosen as the winner of the 2010 Fashion Fringe competition by John Galliano, her work has been admired across the fashion industry and I was delighted to get an invitation to her show and see something quite fabulous from the designer.
It was more than a full house at the BFC showspace tent in the courtyard of Somerset House, London and as we settled down, the fashion chatter reduced to silence as the lights came up and a deep, scottish voice greeted us.
Corrie Nielsen ‘Vestiarium Scoticum’ LFW A/W12
Corrie Nielsen looks back to her own Scottish heritage to inspire this Autumn/Winter collection. Corrie dug deep into Medieval English and Scottish manners of dress and uncovered the manuscript Vestiarium Scoticum. From this, and learning about the role of Scottish dress in the history of her roots and the official clan tartans, Corrie combined her signature sculptural forms to create an amazing collection of evening and daywear.
