About: When Lisa Hoffman and her husband, actor Dustin Hoffman, decided to have a family, they made a promise to keep the family close together. And so, when it called for her husband to go away on location, that meant Lisa’s life often went on location too. She soon became an expert packer of sorts but there was one thing that she always hated to pack – her skincare. (Just how much should she take of each product? Exactly what products did she need? What if her favorite jar of moisturizer broke in her suitcase?) Then, one night several years ago, Lisa, literally had a dream that she was packing for a trip. Her skin care products were neatly organized into daily packettes, each containing the exact amount of product needed for her complete regimen. She woke up the next morning and the idea for Lisa Hoffman Night & Day 24 Hour Skincare was born. Night & Day 24 Hour Skincare was the first of many collections from Lisa Hoffman. The line has expanded to Bath, Shower, and fragrance and will be launching a new Spa Facial collection in Spring 2008.

1. What is unique about your skin care line that makes it different from what is available on the market?
We believe that it is a combination of factors that makes our line so special. Aside from the unique packaging concept, the Lisa Hoffman brand offers products that cannot be found anywhere else. Our Lab custom designed the formulas, with the endorsement of leading dermatologist Dr. Ileana Zapatero, to offer some of the most rare and effective ingredients science and nature have to offer. In addition, the products in the line have been developed to work synergistically as an entire regimen, each complimenting and supporting the next. And finally, the simplicity of that regimena process that includes numbered products, some of which can be used without water, metered-dosage, and clear instructions for use makes maintaining a healthy, high-quality skin care routine easier and less time-consuming.
2. What five beauty products could you not live without?
My hair has a mind of its own so I like to use Kerastase's Oleo Curl collection to help relax my curly hair. I also love Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Concealer to disguise dark circles and Shu Uemura mascara to lengthen lashes. Shu Uemura also has an amazing eye lash curler that really creates an instant lift and perfect curl. And, I like to use Stila lip glaze to complete my quick make-up routine.
3. What do you think about the growing trend of men's skincare? Does your husband use any of your products?
I think it is only natural, as men witness the proliferating options that women have when it comes to skin care, that they will begin to desire more options themselves. As it is a fairly new trend, it is our challenge to create the products that men will find most useful and then to educate them on the benefits of using new these products for their skin.
Dustin has been incredibly supportive of my skincare line and likes to use my products, particularly when I apply the products on him.
4. When do you feel most beautiful?
I feel my most beautiful when I know that I've been productive and that I have plenty of time left to spend with my family, doing the things I love most.
5. Who is your beauty icon and why?
I've always admired the way Katherine Hepburn managed to maintain this incredibly feminine beauty, while exhibiting a fairly androgynous sense of style. This was especially impressive given the times she grew up in. Talk about an icon!
6. If you could share only one beauty tip, what would it be?
Using a toner prior to applying a moisturizer is very effective. Toner preps the skin to receive the full benefits of the moisturizer. The toner in the Lisa Hoffman Night & Day collection uses fruit acids to gently exfoliate the skin, so that the moisturizer can penetrate deep into the skin, providing soft, supple, radiance.
