Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova, the wonderfully true to heart actors (singers first however) in the film Once have won themselves a gold statue! Their gorgeous ballad "Falling Slowly" played a key role in capturing the essence of the film. A looking glass into writing, and creating music from the heart. There is also great compromise and questions of integrity throughout Once. This film could very well be (as Peter Travers from Rolling Stone put it) the definitive music film for our generation. It comes as no surprise that the lead actors were brought to the project for their musical talents. The director, a friend of Hansard, knew he could turn them into actors, but not the other way around. The result is a gritty film of song, broken love, newfound inspiration, and family.
A film that every 20-40 year old should own.
BRAVO!!!
