While studying art at the home of tobacco giant, R.J. Reynolds, during the summer of 1978, Kim found the wedding gown of his wife displayed. The color of the socialite's gown during the time of their nuptial was Black. From that moment on she grew a fascination with formal attire. Kim groomed her skills as a creative force and accomplished portrait artist. The University of North Carolina granted her the honor of the Gold Key Award and two certificates of Merit in 1985. Ms. Miller also earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the American College of Fine Art in 1989 with Cum Laude Honors.
