I can't remember the last time i held my breath for so long during one scene! (and this is not the pop-corn talking!) Ridely Scott has pulled it again! the guy is a genius!!!
The movie starts off giving you the right impression, there is going to be blood in this movie, and some violence, but there is also going to be some soul.
The plot goes back to 1968: Vietnam, Harlem, Drugs, Cops, Aviator Sunglasses, you name it - it was there. And just when you think that you got everything figured out - you don't.
Denzel Washington gives a great performance, and right next to him is Russell Crow. Both play very strong, believable characters that remind you of the other and might share some resemblance in some twisted way. Just when you start feeling sorry for the drug dealer (Scott leads you right to it) the film shows you what's behind the drug money and where it goes to. And then when you take sides with the cop - you realize you were so naive it is sad.
Anyway, go see it - this one will be remembered for a while.
