I have always been a fan of Jean Paul Gaultier ever since I had to do a project on him in my sophomore year French class. His outfits were a bit bizarre but definitely had that certain touch that made you smile. Well, Gaultier has always been one who likes to experiment… so you know what he did? Around the 2006 year, he put a plus size model on his catwalk along with the traditional size zeros. Now I know this may be old news to some but the topic of whether models are too skinny is very ongoing and heated. All I like to say is that maybe Jean Paul had the right idea… with one tiny exception. That being that maybe next time a median could be found. Not size twenty or negative whatever, but how about a nice size twelve? In the words of one of my favorite teen authors, Meg Cabot, “Size twelve is not fat.” It’s about time that the pleasantly plump and the vertically challenged have had their day. If no other reason then the self centered “Je peux si je veux.” (A.k.a., I can if I want to. :) )
