It's been almost 3 months since CW show Stylista crowned it's first winner Johanna Cox, yet I have yet to see or hear anything else from or about her. Like so many who watched the show, I found Johanna's talent very refreshing. Even more than that, her personality and overall spirit was inspiring, particularly to those (myself included) who aspire to be a part of an otherwise, catty and treacherous industry!
The fashion industry is taking a huge hit financially so maybe that has something to do with her absence. This would be sad considering how her presence could contribute to the much needed makeover in the fashion industry!
I look forward to reading or seeing something from you Johanna. Ya definitely got a fan in me girl!!

Who says nice fashionistas finish last?
Last night's season finale of the CW's stylista ended with China Analyst, Johanna from Michigan as the winner. Throughout the competition, there was the predictable cattiness, the equally annoying juvenile behavior and the just down right evil or mean spiritedness. Through it all Johanna managed to maintain a level of professionalism that, if she were Dyshun or Megan (the other 2 finalists), could have easily been overshadowed by an inability to work with the less that favorable contestants (ie. Kate).
Johnanna was definitely the underdog in that she was one of the only cast members to not necessarily come from a fashion background. Although she was fluent in Chinese, (which she displayed during an episode and was most definitely noticed by those that mattered!) her only experience with fashion was more than likely when she caught a glance of those cute camouflage uniforms worn by American soldiers (China's uniforms are cute too!).What played in Johanna's favor though, was her ability to deeply analyze the tasks at hand. Although, she was often ridiculed for being overly structured (ie.. overly analytical), with every challenge, no matter how bad the team as a whole had done, she was able to add a much needed perspective which gave a positive addage to the many editorial challenges. At the very end she was able to successfully organize a photoshoot with grammy winner EVE, which left many of her (Eve) fans in awe of the beautiful ELLE cover that was created as a result.Congratulations Johanna you truly know what it means to be a stylista.
