I found this idea on the blog Apartment Therapy (www.apartmenttherapy.com) and I just HAD to write about it.
The basic idea is to take the jewelry you've had tucked away in boxes and find a way to display it. Here, they're using a Ribba frame as the base for the jewelry display board. Take the board, hang a mirror in the middle (so you can see the jewelry once it's on!) and arrange your baubles around it. Voila: now your jewelry is so much easier to dig out in the morning PLUS you've got a great piece of wall art.
I'm in the process of creating an even more low-budge version of this with an ugly old office corkboard. It's about the same size: I'm painting the ugly wooden frame black, and (no kidding) stapling pretty wrapping paper over the cork. Once I get that done, I can just use push pins or something along those lines to hang my jewelry and mirror. The great thing is that I can always change the paint and wrapping paper if I get bored with it.
I really like the idea of not only organizing jewelry so you can see it (I'm too lazy to dig mine out of boxes), but also displaying it in your home. After all, isn't interesting jewelry meant to be seen?
