Brian Lichtenberg is a LA based designer that definitely does not come with the connotations of being a LA designer. Perfectly on trend, Lichtenberg's designs tend toward cut outs, space-age inspired, 80's, and angularity. His namesake fashion line features both womenswear and menswear. Only started 7 years ago, the label has gained a solid group of celebrity admirers, as well as, other fashion savvy personal.
He describes his collections as “very thrift. Skinny jeans, tank tops, ankle boots, my green Hermès Medor watch.” His love of fashion from 70’s to 90’s and Lichetenburg's teenage years of neon colors, thrifted vintage, Japanese street style, and interest in architecture have largely impacted his design aesthetic.
Lichtenburg admits to the obvious sex appeal that is part of this clothing, but finds a balance to keep it in check. In an interview with Mean Mag, he prefers “things that are drapey, sheer, and maybe body conscious. It’s not overt.”
The 28-year-old designer’s fashion aesthetics of neon colors and bold shapes are inspired by his thrifty, vintage wears during his teenage years, Japanese street style, and architecture. The fusion of these inspirations had given birth to the sensational “B.L.” collection which features patchworked sweatshirts matched with metallic leggings, cleverly-designed hooded tops, tank top with hems bombarded with loose fabric, among many others.
Brian Lichtenberg's fanclub includes but are not limited to: Daft Punk, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, M.I.A., Yelle.
