| About: Hello! My name is Cristina Osorio, age 22, and I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and have lived there for the past 10 years. During high school I spent about three years learning Japanese and my interest in Southeast Asia grew. Most of my inspiration comes from Japanese culture and fashion. Kurichan no hito is a phrase I learned during my studies which means Kurichan’s (my) one person and I decided to use this as a label name. I wanted the wearer of my clothes to feel apart of me, a part of a family.
When I was presented with the My It Things competition, I saw it as an incredible opportunity to show the public who I am as a designer and where my interests lie.
The goal of my collection is to create garments that are playful, flirty, and cocktail appropriate. I designed these garments for the outspoken girl who wants something classic and exciting. I wanted the girl who wears these garments to feel fresh, alive, and energized. My inspiration came from a mixture of both the quiet, quaint beauty of English tea gardens and the vibrant, simple aesthetics of Oriental tea gardens.
