"It" Book: Style, Naturally by Summer Rayne Oakes.
Remember that CHANGE era that started on January 20th 2009? It rarely resonated with fashion or style, unless we talk about replacement of high waisted jeans with harem pants...
There is one change we, fashionistas, can start implementing into our daily lives and it's supporting the green fashion movement.
I know, it's hard to make our fashion choices based on designers social activism, and that's where we all need help. I'm glad someone as cool as Summer Rayne Oakes did the work for us and came up with the ultimate green style Bible called STYLE, NATURALLY.
This lavishly illustrated and beautifully designed book by Summer Rayne Oakes, fashion model, activist and resident expert on Treehugger.com and Discovery Network's Planet Green, explains the basics (from fair trade to organically grown), and showcases hundreds of designers and eco-friendly brands including, Stella McCartney, Sa?a Minney’s People Tree, Levi's, Loomstate, and Aveda that have made earth-friendly materials and sustainable practices a priority.
As for my personal CHANGE, I'm going to stick to my "no fast fashion" resolution this year, as well as use only sustainable beauty products (by Jurlique). What's yours?
