Now when I' m done with the fashion reports for the last night' s Oscars, I had few additional thoughts to share with you.
What we often don' t realize watching the Hollywood planet from our small screen and reading about it in the tabloids is that being part of it doesn' t guarantee you an Oscar ticket.
We missed lots of big stars last night (starting with Brad and Angelina) as well as actors that make blockbusters (like Tom and Katie) or actresses that occupy 90% of the printed press and public attention - Lindsay Lohan, Keira Knightley, Eva Longoria, Demi Moore, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Palthrow, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson. None of these A-listers were invited to the Oscars!
All times big stars like Julia Roberts, Robert De-Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock did not attend either.
This proves that even in this industry being an A-lister or making millions of dollars in movies doesn' t guarantee you everything in life.
I like this thought.
I also like to know that people can receive an Oscar even if they are not native English speakers (Marion Cotillard, Tilda Swinton, Javier Bardem) or even if they are ex-strippers that make their first movie (Diablo Cody).
Call me a sentimentalist, but the 80th Oscars inspired me.
