Daffy's a discount store known for its marketing stunts (remember the contest awarding the winner a $7,000-a-month apartment for $700?), does it again, this time by using dancers jumping off your movie theater screen.
This past weekend, they staged a special surprise presentation at the showing for Amelia at the Ziegfeld Theatre in NYC - an onscreen advertisement and a real life Fitting Dance routine. Watch the video to experience the full effect.
While a marketing person in me wants to love the creative approach in choosing the medium, a fashion person in me isn't sure it's representing the clothes well. The over the top song and dance routine make fun of the clothes, piling them on the dancers not exactly in a most fashionable way... Instead of making me want to go shopping for the latest fashions at Daffy's, it rather makes me think I need to own less clothes and maybe stop layering them so I don't look like a crazy person...
