The trio of Madonna, Marc Jacobs and Steven Meisel are back for another round of Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter ads.
Shot in a New York studio, the campaign features Madonna in a series of sophisticated portraits reminiscent of the golden age of Hollywood. Inspired by the photographs of Man Ray, who perfected the technique of solarisation, and nodding to the lush colours and sumptuous draperies of the paintings of Tamara de Lempicka.
I'm not the biggest fan of solarisation effects (blame it for too many hours spent working with Photoshop), but I do appreciate the sweetly ironic presence of the bunny ears that were such a hit on the catwalk and during Madonna's Met Gala appearance.
