According to various reports Jay-Z is the face of Fendi. Jay-Z was recently seen with Fendi’s head Karl Lagerfeld at a New York Fendi photo shoot where he was a model for the brand’s upcoming marketing campaign. No word yet when the campaign will launch.
This might come as surprise to fashion lovers, but hip hop fans might remember that the rapper inconspicuously name dropped the italian luxury brand on Beyonce’s “Upgrade U,” in the following lines: “I’m talking Spy Bags and fly pads, and rooms at the Bloomberg/ rumors you on the verge of a new merge…”
Again, this might be just another example on how the brand mention can score you the real deal. I just hope few years from now songs won't have product placements in their lyrics, but according to the recent Fergie's case this might be the next "It" thing...
