Old Navy have admitted that during the last few seasons in their ad campaigns they walked away from their customer - young moms and families. So in a revolutionary move this Spring they decided to forgo the traditional bikini dance in favor of something more hmm.. FUNny...
The new ad campaign, which launch this Thursday, includes a flier patterned like a celebrity magazine and a bevy of mock-models it is calling "Supermodelquins". The new TV ads portray a variety of mannequins in Old Navy stores cracking jokes and talking to each other about denim and the value of Old Navy clothes.
While I applaud Old Navy's sense of humor, I'm not sure they had to go as far as Stepford Wives style visuals in order to bring back the young moms to their stores. I hope the new collection doesn't resemble Barbie-like Nicole Kidman dresses, or Bette Midler floral numbers from the movie.
